Men of Essence is a nonprofit organization that brings quality networking events and service initiatives to the community based on the voluntary efforts of its membership and ongoing community support. As such, we rely heavily on the assistance of those who share our mission and vision.

When you donate to MoE, either via attendance at our events, in-kind donations, website donations, or mailed-in donations, rest assured that your contributions will go toward our community service initiatives and quality networking events that emphasize the mission of MoE.

WHY DONATE TO MoE?

  • MoE is a 501(c)(3) organization.

  • MoE is the only organization of its kind focusing on gay men of color in order to encourage self-acceptance and positive imagery, thus combating our unique set of social adversities.


  • MoE is a service-based non-profit organization, with initiatives that range from volunteering with AIDS services organizations to hosting fundraisers by which we give back to society.


  • MoE is a newly-founded organization that is raising funds to start up the MoE Scholarship Program, thus furthering our mission to spotlight positive contributions of gay men of color to society.


    • MoE regularly serves hot meals to residents of AIDS Services of Dallas. MoE has partnered with various other organizations in order to strenghthen the efforts of those organizations that benefit the community. Just this year, Men of Essence held its first annual backpack drive in order to benefit kids served by three other 501(c)(3) organizations as they head back to school for the new year of 2007-2008. And now, Men of Essence is embarking on a new journey to raise funds for the MoE Scholarship Program.

    Remember: MoE is here to make a bold statement! That is, gay men of color are taking charge of positively redefining themselves in mainstream society. By providing positive imagery of gay men of color to overall society, we aspire to redirect the adversities we face in society such as rising red health statistics and inadequacy in actively taking part in overall GLBT social issues.
